The library summer reading program is starting June 5th and runs until July 24th. The more books or audio books you read, the more chances you have to win prizes. Weekly prizes are $10 Wal-Mart gift cards, and the grand prizes are an iPod Nano and a FLIP digital video camcorder. So come on in on June 5th and get busy reading!
June 7th – Root Beer Floats and Sidewalk Chalk – 2:00-3:30 pm
Kickoff our Summer Reading program “Make Waves @Your Library” by promoting it with chalk! Meet outside to decorate our sidewalks, then come inside the Teenscape for root beer floats (for teens grades 7-12).
June 12th – Teens Beach Party – 1:00-3:00 pm in the auditorium
Come join us for a beach party at the library! We’ll have games (limbo, hula hoops, relays), crafts, ginormous bubbles, music and food. Bring your beach towel and wear your Hawaiian shirt, Bermuda shorts and flip flops! For teens in grades 7-12 this fall and registration is recommended.
June 15th – Marbleized Stationary – 2:00 – 3:00 pm
Create your very own marbleized stationary–for teens in grades 7-12.
June 25th – Spa Event for Tweens – 2:00-3:30 pm in the children’s story room
Relax, re-energize, and have fun by taking care of your mind and body. Take a moment to be good to yourself. What are you waiting for? Join us for a spa event for kids in grades 5-8 in the children’s story room. Registration is required and spa size is limited to 20 kids!
June 29th – Wii Want you to Play! – 2:00-4:00 pm
Kids in grades 5 and up join us for Nintendo Wii in the Teenscape.
July 8th – “Make Waves” Film Fest – 4:00-9:00 pm
The “Make Waves @Your Library” summer program continues with movies and pizza in the Teenscape! Join us for the adventurous THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER followed by some pizza around 6 pm, and then the classic film JAWS. Registration recommended so we can provide enough food.
July 14th – Shells and “Aquamarine” – 2:00-4:00 pm
Join us in the Teenscape for the movie “Aquamarine” and make shell candles, bracelets, and sailor boxes.
July 23rd – Halo3/Guitar Hero – 2:00-5:00 pm
Both Halo and Guitar Hero will be set up during this time in the Teenscape. Personal controllers are welcome! For teens in grades 7-12
