And the Winners Are…

…Cassidy Clouse and Hannah Espiritu!  These girls both won a Flip digital video camcorder—the top prizes in our summer reading contest.  Congratulations to our participants and prize winners here.  We gave away hundreds of dollars in gift cards to Wal-Mart and Books-a-Million and Game Stop.

Congratulations!

The overall winner of the summer reading photo contest is Elizabeth Brummett!  Her picture won Overall Best in Show and beat out the adult competion.  Elizabeth also placed 2nd for other entries.  Next, a big hurrah for Jessica Weisheit, who received 3rd place in the teen division for her picture from Yosemite National Park.    Everyone’s pictures looked fabulous and I appreciate all of your creative energy out there.  I hope to see more pictures in the future.  Check out all the winners’ photos in our display by the library elevator.

Some of you seem to be re-reading the Harry Potter books in preparation for the movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince coming out next week!  If you want to catch up on the movies, join us for Potterpalooza this Friday from 12-5:30 pm, and Monday, 11 am-9 pm.  The first session this Friday, we’ll show the first 2 movies, then finish off the last 3 on Monday.  See you there!
